Directions From 118 Fwy heading W: exit Hayvenhurst, turn L (S), down approx 1 mile, driveway on L side From118  Fwy  heading E: exit Balboa, turn R (S), turn L (E) on San Fernando Mission Blvd, turn R (S) on Hayvenhurst, driveway on L side.

Eligibility Any male or female athlete 16 years or older.

Rules Athletic shorts and T-shirts are acceptable, cleated shoes recommended. (events contested on grass)

Events Carry & Drag, 25 lb Stone Put, Overhead Log Lift, Rope Pull, 60 lb Weight Throw, Farmers’ Walk

Performances will be scored on decathlon-type tables, highest total point score wins.

Divisions Open, Master (40-49, 50+), Junior (16-22), Police & Fire.

Weight Classes Light 0-199.75 lbs Heavy 200 lbs+

Schedule Weigh ins: 11am-11:30am Rules Briefing: 11:45am First Event Starts: 12n

Awards Awesome Trophies 1^st thru 10^th places, each Division

Medals 1^st thru 3^rd each division for individual event winners

Ultimate Warrior Strength Award The Best Strength Athlete of the entire contest

Entry Fee $40 per athlete per division, add $30 if entering in an additional division.

Entry Deadline May 3^rd, 2003…add $20 if entry is received postmarked after that date.

Disclaimer: In consideration of the acceptance of my application for entry into the 2003 Spartan Strength Classic sanctioned by the American Strength Speed Power

Association (ASSPA) on the day of May 18^th, 2003, I hereby waive, release, and discard any and all claims for damages, death, personal injury or property damage which I may have or which may hereafter occur to me as a result of my participation in said event. This release is intended to discharge in advance, Kevin Meskew, Father Milbauer, St John Baptist de la Salle Church or School, The Archdiosese of Los Angeles, St John Baptist de la Salle International Festival and/or its staff, unnamed sponsors, officials, agents, or representatives of these individual organizations from and against all liability arising out of or connected in any way with my participation in said event, even though that liability may arise out of or connected in any way with my participation in said event, even though that liability may arise out of the negligence or carelessness on the part of persons or entities mentioned above. It is further understood that this event is a hazardous recreation activity within the meaning of California Government Code, Section 831.7. I understand that I am not covered for any personal injury and/or property damage under any medical or liability insurance policies of Kevin Meskew, Father Milbauer, the USPF, St. John Baptist de la Salle Church or School, any sponsors (named or unnamed) or staff connected with the St. John Baptist de la Salle International Festival. I further understand that serious accidents occasionally occur during said activity and that participants sometimes sustain serious personal injuries including death and/or property damage as a consequence thereof. Knowing the risks of said activity, nevertheless, I hereby agree to assume those risks and to release and hold harmless all of the persons or entities mentioned above who, through negligence or carelessness, might otherwise be liable to me, or his/her heirs or assigns for damage. It is further understood and agreed that this waiver, release and assumption of risk is to be binding on my heirs and assigns.
