Description of the Event :  This was the second event on day two.  The athletes attempted to lift, carry and load onto barrels that were approximately 4.5 feet off the ground five odd shaped rocks ranging in weight from 200 to 350 pounds in the least amount of time.  The Lava rock had to be carried and not rolled. There was a 90 second time limit.

Notes :  Bull Stewart only loaded one rock fearing permanent injury to his strained right biceps.  Gary Mitchell was the only American to load all five rocks in under 90 seconds.  To say that Magnus and Jouko were flying would be a gross understatement.  In my opinion, had Magnus not fumbled the fourth rock badly, he might have won the event.
